Musclefix often gets asked to do exciting work, and we’re always thrilled to get in on the action. We are very proud to have provided massage therapy for the amazing dancers of the world renowned Riverdance. Riverdance found Musclefix from the other side of the world and selected us to provide massage for them in Melbourne at the brilliant Regent Theatre.
We did 60 hours of massage over 10 days! Around three hours before the performance, we arrived and set up in one of the backstage dressing rooms next to the touring physiotherapist, Conor McCarthy. We worked for four hours at each performance, beginning with the lead male and female, then nine more performers. It was hard work but great fun and a great experience. The energy and enthusiasm from the whole cast was fantastic. They are some of the world’s best dancers and come from countries such as Ireland (of course), England, Australia, America, Spain and a few others.
Before the Melbourne tour finished both Nick and myself were given tickets to see the performance. It was sensational, I highly recommend seeing it if you get a chance. You’ll either have to wait a few years, catch them in another country or in their home county of Ireland.
